Co-convened by GABRIELA-Philippines and Grassroots Women under the auspices of the International League of People’ Struggles. The conference will include panel speakers and workshops about wars of aggression, imperialist globalization, fundamentalism and role of women in the struggle for national and social liberation. The 57th Anniversary of Hiroshima/Nagasaki, and the 12th Anniversary of Iraq Sanctions

Many peace organizations across Canada plan to raise awareness about the planned war against Iraq, and to make the connection between the anniversary of the sanctions against Iraq (August 6, 1991) and the bombing of Hiroshima.
