Kidzone

The Kidz Zone is a creative & fun space for kids of all ages, their parents and caregivers. Open from 11am until 7pm, the tent will provide all day activities include facepainting, the ever-popular Junkyard Symphony, sports, arts & crafts stations, and awesome performances on "The Little Stage".

4:00 Flying Folk Army (fun folk songs!)

5:00 The Derby (old time string band!)

...and lantern-making workshops in the afternoon with Kachina! These lanterns will be used in the procession out of the park at the end of the night!

All of these activities require parent supervision, ensuring a stress-free day for everyone. There will be a shady nap-zone area which is breast-feeding friendly and stocked with water & fresh fruit. Remember to wear hats!!!

Jordan Scott is currently finishing his BA at SFU & is the author of two chap books: Mere Mismemory (Delusional books 2001) and A walking history of Wladyslaw's body in parts (House Press 2002). His work has also appeared in Stuffed Dog (2000), Materia (2001) and Van (2002).

Michelle Kenny was born and raised in Vancouver. She has been a student at Capilano College for the last 3 years and will begin to study Public Relations this fall at Kwantlen College. She has published works in the Capilano Courier and is a practicing member of the writer's group "Women of Letters."

Ryan Murphy is another refugee from Alberta. Specialty: Dr. Suessian anarcho-ranting.

Joy Russell's poetry has appeared in IC3: The Penguin Book of New Black Writing in Britain (2000) and Bluesprint:Black British Columbian Literatur and Orature (2002).

Junie Désil, is a Haitian-Canadian poet, originally from Montreal, now residing in Vancouver. Her poetry has appeared recently on CBC's, Definitely Not the Opera.

Ivan E. Coyote is a writer/storyteller from Whitehorse. Ivan's Close To Spiderman, a collection of short stories, was published in 2000 by Arsenal Pulp Press.

Peter Plate taught himself to write fiction during eight years spent squatting in abandoned buildings in San Francisco's Mission District. He is the author of seven novels, the most recent being Angels of Catastrophe (2001). He has performed at such events/venues as the San Francisco Literary Festival, Lancaster Literary Festival (UK), Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center (Los Angeles), and Center for Contemporary Art, (Glasgow, Scotland)
