In addition to the resource library, our student-run group organizes events,
seminars, and discussion groups. Currently, we address topics such as sweatshops,
fair-trade products, international trade, first nations peoples, and more
generally, cycles of poverty in Vancouver and beyond. With the input of
other progressive groups at UBC, we hope to put together a social justice week
at UBC during this year, to expose UBC students to a variety of issues.

We serve as a way for students to actively voice their concerns about issues on
and off campus but also facilitates education through a growing library of literature
dealing with environmental issues. We sponsor member-initiated events on campus,
such as 'awareness' days on air pollution, composting and vegetarianism, plus
various forms of action on and around campus, plus speakers such as Dr. David
Suzuki and Paul Watson. We invite people from beyond the UBC campus to join us
in these events. Look for events on our web page or call us!
